Research is not completed for this line of Staffords, who descend from William through his son James Stafford. It is a lateral line to Robert Stafford, a brother to James Stafford. It is presented here for those of you who are researching other lines descending from William Stafford.

William W. Stafford and Martha V. Allen
162. William Wilford5 Stafford (William1, Robert2 Benjamin3 Grant S.4) Born 23 December 1869 probably in Morgan County, Indiana; died on 30 January 19461 in Centerton, Indiana.2 He was the eldest child of Grant S. and Miranda Stafford nee Fultz and is enumerated in their household in 1870, but no 1880 census record can be found for W. W. Stafford, his parents or siblings. He is enumerated in Morgan County, Indiana in the remaining available censuses (i.e. 1900,3 1910,4 19205 and 19306). He was a farmer and stock buyer in Morgan County for many years. William married Martha V. Allen, daughter of Thomas and Martha Allen nee Brunnemer on 30 March 1890 in Morgan County.2 They were the parents of 3 boys and 2 girls. The first two boys did not live to adulthood.
William W. Stafford died in Centerton, Indiana on 30 January 19402 and Martha V. Stafford nee Allen died on 19 July 1959 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Esta Games in Indianapolis.8 Both were buried in Centerton Cemetery.1 Further research is needed for this family and their descendants.
