Clarinda "Clara" Adams and her husband, Silas Dooley

Clarinda "Clara" Adams⁵ (William¹Stafford, Robert² Stafford, Daniel³Stafford, Rose Ann⁴Stafford) Born on 02 February 1865 in Morgan County, Indiana to James M. and Rose Ann Adams neé Stafford. She lived in Morgan County until her family moved west to Harrison County, Missouri when she was about 9 or 10 years old. On 15 July 1881 she married Silas Dooley in Cainsville, Harrison County, Missouri. Clara [as she was called by her family] and Silas did not remain in Harrison County long after their marriage. They first moved to Iowa where their eldest child, William Emery Dooley was born in July 1884 in Iowa, but would move to Kansas by 1887 where the rest of their children were born. The Dooleys remained in western Kansas for many years, some time between 100 and 1910 they moved to Lincoln County, Colorado where they were when the 1910 census was enumerated. The family returned to Decatur County, Kansas after 1910 and were there at the time of Silas' death on 03 November 1917. After Silas' death, Clara went back to Lincoln County, Colorado, but did not stay there long. She then went to Timpas, Otero County, Colorado and prior to her death moved to Rush, El Paso County, Colorado where she died on 15 December 1952.

It is interesting to note that Silas Dooley's family was from Morgan County, Indiana also. They migrated west to Harrison County, Missouri and on to Iowa and Kansas at approximately the same times that the Stafford family moved to these locations.
