William A. Adams5 (William1, Robert2, Daniel,3Rose Ann4) was born in December 1857 in Morgan County, Indiana and died on about 20 May 1925 in Plainview, Hale County, Texas.  Records are conflicting regarding the year of his birth, but the 1860 census lists his age as 3 years, which may be the most accurate reporting of his birth.  He was the first child of Rose Ann and James M. Adams.  According to census records he remained single all of his life.  William was a miller and farmer for much of his adult life.  He and his siblings went to Red Willow County, Nebraska with their mother and William is found 1880 and 1900 census records in this county.  Sometime between 1900 and 1910 he and his mother, Rose Ann Adams, moved south to Hale County, Texas.  William probably lived in Hale County, Texas until his death in 1925.  The 1910 census reports his occupation as a truck farmer.     Tradition says that he died from a fall from a windmill he was repairing.  He was buried in the Plainview Cemetery in Hale County, Texas.
